Friends of the Alluvion Gallery Exhibit Opens September 11 th
An eclectic art opening featuring works by Melissa Terrezza Stride, Mary Montes, Connie Bostic, Cynthia Potter, Cynlos, Jarrett Leone, Margaret Curtis, Oguz Erdur, Donald Evans, Linda Larsen, and Adam Larsen exhibits at the Flood Gallery Fine Art Center, Friends of the Flood Exhibition September 11th, through Oct 31st 2021. The opening reception September xith is from 6pm to 9pm and is free and open to the public at the Flood Gallery on 850 Bluish Ridge Rd. in Black Mountain, NC.
Margaret Curtis
Built-in in Hamilton, Bermuda, Margaret Curtis is a painter and visual artist. She has been creating feminist-based work since the late 1980s. Curtis has been included in shows at The Brooklyn Museum, The Andy Warhol Museum, The Huntington Beach Art Eye, The Mint Museum and The Wexner Heart.
Connie Bostic In 1991, artist Connie Bostic opened Zone I, downtown Asheville'southward outset contemporary art gallery. For nigh a decade, the infinite was a vital artistic incubator, social hub, and artistic platform. Bostic exhibited both local artists and luminaries such equally the late Robert Mapplethorpe and Keith Haring.
Mary Montes is an Abstract Expressionist painter who fuses representation with abstraction. While studying fine fine art at Barry University and the University of Miami she developed a painterly manner that accentuates her mastery in drawing with a lively application of line and color. Her work is the result of an artist Residency at the Black Mountain Press.
Melissa Terezza Stride is an artist and environmental activist whose mixed-media approach to art is on view at the Inundation Gallery. "Using an image transfer procedure, each tile is a 1 of a kind treasure, Melissa explains, "experimenting and working with new materials helps my personal growth as an creative person."
Jarrett Leone studied art and sculpture at Western Carolina Academy. He explored various styles and mediums in his painting, sculpture and jewelry, as well as in his music while living in Asheville, NC. He now lives in Salt Lake City where he is participating in art exhibition and his craft work.
Donald Evans is best known for his sci-fi fine art and has received several awards for his work. His electric current exhibit features wildlife and landscapes that showcases his love and skill for drawing realistically.
Cynthia Potter, working as a professional graphic designer, likes to devise more hands-on creations. She uses painting and mixed media to tell the story of whimsical personas inspired past childhood experiences in Puerto Rico, dreams and local legends.
Oguz Erdur,is a poet and photographer from Istanbul, Turkey with several books to his credit that feature his poetry and unusual photographic works. He is currently living in the Bat Cave area, NC.
Cynlosis a poet and sculpture artist from Mexico and the US, has numerous published works, and has exhibited throughout Mexico and the The states, including the Academy of Guanajuato, National Gallery in Washington DC and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Fine art.
Linda Larsen, living and working in Asheville, NC, is primarily a painter fixated on the human figure and how it moves/struggles from inside its own interior space out into the external world. Political and social justice bug intertwine and pin her piece of work in both history and the culture of now.
Adam Larsenhas designed video projections for over 200 productions in theatre, dance, symphony and opera. Projects have ranged from intimate to extravagant and have appeared both on Broadway and in many of the major venues across the world.
